Joel’s vile crimes ‘exposed’ after he makes a rookie error in Coronation Street

Coronation Street fans spot clue Lauren Bolton's alive amid Joel Deering's next victim 'named' - Manchester Evening News

Joel Deering (Calum Lill) makes a huge error in Coronation Street next week as two residents get closer to finding out his involvement in Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) ordeal.

Last week, it was confirmed Lauren is actually alive after being attacked by Joel in February. She had been living rough but was back in Weatherfield to see Roy (David Neilson) after he suffered a heart attack.

We then saw Lauren being confronted by Joel. As a showdown ensued, we were also able to learn that the solicitor had been manipulating her ever since their first meeting in September last year. Joel would regularly visit Lauren and ply her with wine, and would also provide her with money so she could buy herself some food and electricity for keeping warm in the winter.

As things developed between them though, Joel eventually pushed Lauren into starting a toxic relationship.

In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Michael (Ryan Russell) and Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) offer to help Joel move a chest of drawers from his old flat and into Dee-Dee’s (Channique Sterling-Brown).

In order to get Lauren out of the flat, Joel hands her money and instructs her to buy some things for their new baby.

When Michael and Ronnie arrive, they get ready to help Joel but when Ronnie takes a look at the fridge and remarks that it’s packed with ready meals for one, the evil man feels paranoid.

It’s a rookie error and proves that someone has been living in Joel’s flat, despite the fact we know he’s been at Dee-Dee’s.

How will Joel respond to this?

‘One thing we definitely know from this is that he is very selfish,’ Calum Lill pondered. ‘He puts his own self-interest above all else, and he seems to lack the empathy that regular people have.

‘So, when you add all of them together, I don’t think we’ve seen the worst of him yet. And who knows where that’s going to go?’

‘I obviously can’t say, but my ideal one would be drag it out as long as possible because it’s such a nice place to work and everyone’s so amazing’, he added when asked about the duration of this storyline.

‘So, I’d just rather it take as long as possible, whatever it is, and spend more time with amazing people. Everyone here has been incredible, in front and behind the camera.

‘I obviously can’t say – I don’t know how it ends! But they can take as long as they want, I’m happy with that!’
