Coronation Street drops biggest clue yet that Rosie Webster is set to return
Corrie fans, hold onto your hats!
It looks like Weatherfield’s very own wild child Rosie Webster might be strutting her stuff back down the cobbles anytime soon.
Helen Flanagan, who played the sassy daughter of Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell), made quite the stir on Coronation Street when she popped up as a fresh-faced nine year old back in 2000. Audiences have been glued to their screens ever since, watching Rosie transform from troublesome tot to rebellious teen.
But after waving goodbye to the street in 2012 for new acting gigs and a cracking time in the Aussie jungle on I’m A Celebrity, Helen graced the Street once more in 2017, only to leave us again in 2018 to welcome her little bundle of joy, Delilah.
Since then, its all been quiet on the Rosie front… until now. The rumour mill went into overdrive after Friday’s episode (August 9), where Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), aka stepdad extraordinaire, was spotted having a cheeky one at the Rovers and spilling the beans about Sally being tied up on the blower with Rosie for a colossal “two and a half hours,” reports the Express.
Another fan was all fingers and thumbs typing: “Rosie mention! ! Hope she comes back!” There was even a pleading post: “Can’t we have Rosie back please?” And one superfan seemed convinced, declaring: “Rosie mention! A return?”
Whispers about Helen’s possible return to the cobbles have been making rounds for a while now. An insider spilled to The Sun: “Helen’s talking about plans to return – not this year, but maybe late next year.”
They added, “Bosses have made it clear they’d welcome her back and she sees the soap cast as family. She misses them, and playing Rosie, a lot.” In a juicy exclusive with Daily Star, the telly favourite confessed she would “love” to make a comeback on the show.
