Leanne’s world implodes in Coronation Street spoiler video as she gets unexpected news

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) receives some unexpected news in Coronation Street soon as her cult storyline continues.

Earlier this year, Leanne met Rowan (Emryhs Cooper), who introduced himself as the leader of a self help group called The Institute.

Due to Rowan’s manipulation and charm, Leanne was drawn into the group and hasn’t looked back. She believes the organisation is hugely beneficial to someone who has been through trauma but to the likes of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), they know it’s a corrupt business.

In recent weeks, Leanne has turned her attention to recruiting someone new. The person she picked was Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) – a smart young woman, but someone who has also experienced a great deal over the past few years.

In this new video, Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) arrives in the Bistro and asks Leanne who Amy is speaking to in a booth.

The character is having a conversation with a financial advisor, after previously expressing her interest in using the money Deirdre Barlow gave her for The Institute.

Just as Leanne goes to sort a drink for Aadi, she receives a phone call.

On the line is Nick, who is at the hospital supporting Toyah following her ovarian cancer diagnosis.

Leanne’s face drops with worry as Nick updates her with news from the consultant.

After this scene, though Rowan praises Leanne for putting her own needs first, she later informs him that she doesn’t have time to talk about The Institute as she’s going to visit Toyah, leaving Rowan worried that he is losing control of her.
