Coronation Street could be lining up a double exit very soon as one character makes an announcement to a friend this week on the ITV soap.
In some sad news, the character in question announces they will soon leave Weatherfield for good with a loved one. While the soap has yet to confirm whether it’s goodbye for the characters or if they will change their mind, it seems one of the residents are keen to move on.
Lauren Bolton breaks the news to Dee-Dee Bailey that very soon, her and her baby son will be leaving the cobbles. She details how it was always the plan, and she was meant to give birth in Ireland.
But Lauren went into premature labour recently and welcomed her baby son months earlier than her due date, with him fighting for survival. Lauren is yet to find out vile Joel Deering triggered her early labour with pills in the hope of causing her to lose her baby in a sickening storyline.
Dee-Dee still doesn’t know that Joel is the father of Lauren’s son, or that he’s been grooming young girls amidst other crimes. Lauren tells her all about her plans to leave soon with her son, getting far away from Weatherfield for good.

But in telling her this and revealing the plan is to move to Belfast, Lauren could be about to expose Joel to a shocked Dee-Dee, ahead of his show exit. Dee-Dee is already suspicious, amid Joel’s recent lies but when she visits Lauren at the hospital, she gets more than she bargained for.
Viewers know that Dee-Dee confronted her fiancé recently about a trip to Belfast she didn’t know about. Joel claimed it was something he’d forgotten about that did not go ahead, while she was unsure.
When Lauren mentions her own plans to go to Belfast, she admits she was supposed to go recently and move there, only for her to go into labour. Dee-Dee is stunned given Joel’s email that confirmed he too was meant to be at Belfast airport recently, or he had at least purchased a one-way plane ticket.
The video shows her in complete shock as she listens to what an oblivious Lauren has said – but has she finally realised Joel’s lies, and the fact he and Lauren are more linked than she’s realised? It’s yet to be revealed if Lauren will leave or if she will end up staying.
