Romance hopes are back on as Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain grow close in Coronation Street
Coronation Street fans are desperate to see how DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Carla Connor’s (Alison King) relationship develops, and things look positive in upcoming scenes.
Ever since actress Vicky Myers revealed that Lisa was gay and had her eyes on someone, fans have been speculating that she may become romantically involved with factory boss Carla.
Over the past few months, the two women have been growing closer and shown support to each other through a number of hardships.
In one scene, Lisa encouraged Roy Cropper (David Neilson) to repair his relationship with Carla, stressing that she wouldn’t want to lose a friend like her.
In another, Carla supported Lisa as she opened up about the death of her wife and her struggles with daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), before offering her work experience at the factory.
This support is something that is set to continue in upcoming scenes, when Lisa once again has trouble with Betsy.
When Betsy tries to open up to Lisa about receiving threats from Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), she feels pushed out when her mum becomes distracted by a phone call.
Frustrated, Betsy storms out and heads to the factory, where she confides in Carla about the situation.
Carla is quick to leap to Lisa’s defence, assuring Betsy that she loves her and that she needs to cut her some slack – but will Betsy make amends?
Later in the week, it is Lisa’s turn to vent to Carla, and she wastes no time in sharing her frustrations about Betsy.
It soon becomes clear that Carla and Lisa are growing closer, but what will Betsy make of this?
