Nick Tilsley takes brutal revenge on cult leader Rowan in Coronation Street
NICK Tilsley is set to exact revenge on manipulative cult leader Rowan Cunliffe in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
Since debuting earlier this year, Rowan (Emrhys Cooper) has shamelessly manipulated multiple Weatherfield residents.
Most notably, the villain brainwashed Leanne (Jane Danson) into becoming a devoted member of his group The Institute.
In scenes yet to air, Leanne’s partner Nick (Ben Price) informs Toyah (Georgia Taylor) that he is going to report Rowan to the police for blackmail.
When the businessman calls at the police station, he hands Lisa Swain (Victoria Myers) a notebook with all of the details.
Viewers know Nick and Toyah – who is Leanne’s stepsister – have embarked on an affair behind her back.
Rowan learned of the pair’s indiscretion and held the information over them, having been on the warpath against Toyah ever since she spoke out against him and his practises.
While he took Toyah to court, Leanne ultimately failed to speak up in support of her sister.
In recent scenes, Rowan turned his attention to a new target – Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney).
With Leanne’s help, he persuaded the young woman to invest her £40,000 inheritance into the cult, a decision she later came to regret.
Viewers are keen for the storyline to be brought to an end imminently.
One wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Get this institute storyline wrapped up. It’s so tedious.
“I get you raising awareness, but it’s been ages and is boring now. Let’s have some humour back.”
Another added: “Anyone else bored rigid of the institute b***ocks?”
It appears they may get their wish soon, as Leanne is seemingly closer to uncovering Rowan’s true nature.
She was conflicted after Amy fled her chaotic malware session in tears after being disgustingly branded as a “w***e” and a “sl*g” when opening up about being raped by Aaron Sandford.
When Leanne decides to meet with Rowan for a discussion, he is soon called up to reception.
With his laptop close by, she decides to look through it and soon comes across a file under her name.
In addition, she discovers an identical looking file labelled “Nick and Toyah”.
Could Rowan’s scheme soon fall apart?
