Corrie ‘work out’ real identity of cult CEO Willow – and she’s a cobbles resident
Coronation Street fans have a new theory about the true identity of The Institute’s CEO, Willow. Earlier this year, viewers were introduced to the dubious “self-improvement group” The Institute, which has been scamming vulnerable individuals out of their money.
The cult, led by Rowan Cunliffe (Emhrys Cooper), managed to draw in Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney). However, after conning Amy out of her £40,000 inheritance, things took a turn.
A few months back, Willow made an appearance via a Zoom call, leading fans to believe it was AI and not the real Willow on screen. But after Amy left the group, a panicked Rowan called Willow, indicating they had a problem.
He also tried to convince Leanne of Willow’s investment in changing her life.
Now, fans are speculating that the person on the Zoom call wasn’t Willow at all, but another resident of the cobbles. Some viewers have suggested that the mysterious newcomer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) could be Willow, using AI to hide his identity, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Kit, a corrupt police officer, arrived on the street earlier this year and has already stirred up plenty of drama.
Corrie viewers have been piecing together clues that could link scheming Stephen Reid to the mysterious Institute. The fans took to a Corrie Facebook fan page, buzzing about the potential connection after Stephen’s recent spending spreewhich includes buying sister Gemma’s houseraised eyebrows.
The plot thickened as one fan posted: “Kit.”
Another chimed in with agreement, writing: “I thought that.”
