Coronation Street legend facing jail as past crime is exposed
Carla Connor (Alison King) looks set to face legal action in Coronation Street after knocking a lad down with her car.
If you cast your mind back to July, you’ll remember that Carla was down at Weatherfield when she came across a group of teenagers that had been hassling Roy Cropper (David Neilson).
She made her way over before giving them a mouthful, but as she climbed back into her car, she failed to spot one of the lads cycling towards her.
Opening the door, the teen was sent flying across the road as he was knocked off his bike.
Terrified, she sped off – but the incident was witnessed by Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), who used her knowledge as a way to blackmail her.
As we know, Betsy’s mum is DS Lisa Swan (Vicky Myers), who asked Carla to give her a job at Underworld to fulfil some experience she needs for her fashion course at college.
In turn, the two women have grown closer, often providing a shoulder to cry on despite their personal differences and Lisa’s professional life.
On one occasion, Lisa opened up about the loss of her wife Becky, who was also in the police force, two and a half years ago. Carla resonated with her grief, saying she never truly got over the loss of her distant cousin/brother-in-law/former love Liam and that despite so much time passing, it has never made it easier.
In tonight’s episode, Carla was in the Chariot Square Hotel enjoying a glass of wine with her mate when she spotted scheming abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill) on the other side of the room.
Knowing how hard Lisa was working (albeit secretly) to bring him down, she charged over and exposed him in front of one of his clients – and was met with a warning.
A real trooper, Carla brushed him off and headed back to the factory.
Little did she realise, he was hot on her heels and confronted her in the office after-hours, threatening to sue her for slander.
Just as the argument was about to turn physical, Lisa rushed in and stopped Carla doing something she might later regret. Little did she know, a greater shock was yet to come!
