Onscreen drama had teased viewers with the hint of a budding romance between Alya and her boss Adam Barlow (played by Sam Robertson), but she chose to jet off to Dublin for work instead.

But on Wednesday (September 11), Sair delighted followers by sharing an Instagram snap of her script, teasing with the caption “I’m Backstreet,” reports the Liverpool Echo.

In April, Sair Khan became a mum for the first time after enduring a 22-hour labour with her partner Nathan Chilton. She described the experience as an “absolute rollercoaster”.

Sharing the news on Instagram, she wrote: “He’s here! Okay, when I said ‘Spring awakening’ in my last post I didn’t mean ‘keep’ me awake. The new parent zombie look is definitely a thing isn’t it.”

She continued: “More importantly our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour. We didn’t quite get the birth i’d hoped for but that’s okay (two birth pools, no water birth).”
