Amid a health dash, he was raced to the hospital where he died before his husband Billy had a chance to say his goodbyes.

Billy believed he was still on the phone to his husband as he rushed to the hospital but unbeknown to him, Paul had already slipped away.

In tonight’s episode, Paul’s loved ones were left rattled as they came to terms with his death.

Bernie attempted to make herself busy as she cracked on with funeral plans whilst Billy struggled to make sense of what was going on.

The secret that Paul had already died also began to weigh heavy but Bernie insisted to Summer that they must keep quiet.

However, it appears that a huge family feud could be about to explode as Bernie and Billy look set to come blows over the funeral plans.

Fans saw Bernie discuss how she was desperate for a non-religious funeral for her son Paul.

This is the exact opposite of what Vicar Billy wanted as he fought for a traditional ceremony.

In the episode, Bernie said: “There is a reason that Paul didn’t leave a load of instructions, it’s because he didn’t want to upset Billy and go against all the religious stuff.

“I love Billy but you know what the funeral will be like, some Bible readings and an old duffer on the organ playing All Things Bright and Beautiful.

“That is not the send-off I want for my boy!”

Later, Billy shared his own funeral plans with David as he insisted it was important to give Paul a religious send off

He said: “There is a reason why we have a ceremony.

“A funeral is not just about saying goodbye to the person that you love, it’s to provide solace and community to the people that are left behind.

“I love Bernie, I do, and I love being part of Paul’s family and I don’t want to fall out with them but if its either that or giving my husband a proper Christian send-off, well, there is only gonna be one winner.”

So could this be the feud that blows the family apart for good?
