Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) has an immense sense of guilt in Coronation Street next week when husband Steve (Simon Gregson) asks her to renew their vows.

Viewers of the ITV soap will know that Tracy has engaged in a steamy affair with retired footballer turned painter and decorator Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) over the last month.

The couple first got together when he began decorating their house while Steve was on holiday.

Since then, hapless Steve has made countless efforts to bring the spark back to their marriage, but was put out on Valentine’s Day when Tracy turned down his offer of an early night to spend the evening with Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) in the Rovers.

The adulterers have come dangerously close to being found out on a number of occasions – including when Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) caught them in a heated argument at the florists, and this week when Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) witnessed them in the bedroom while showing Gav Adetiba (Noah Olaoye) the ropes on his new window cleaning round.

The incident left Tim humiliated – and as he rushed home to tell his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) what he saw, it left her confused.

Sally had spoken to Steve earlier in the day, who said he had a busy day driving for cab firm Street Cars.

Upcoming scenes will see Tim force Tracy to come clean to her doting husband, and as she returns home pondering her next move she’s shocked to see that Steve has one final trick up his sleeve – a proposal.

The couple have famously wed twice before, but Steve hopes that a vow renewal will allow them to cement their love for one another again.

Caught between a rock and a hard place and wracked with guilt, Tracy says yes, delighting Steve.

As he beams to his best mate about how his relationship is back on track, Tim can’t help but feel guilty knowing the truth.

Will he admit all, or force Tracy to confront the situation head on?

How will Steve feel when he learns his footballing hero has been scoring goals with his wife?
