Nightmare as Damon Hay pushes Ed to commit another serious crime in Coronation Street spoilers

Damon speaks to Ed at the pub in Corrie

Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) is desperately trying to rebuild his life after relapsing in Coronation Street, and he’s soon challenged thanks to temptation from Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).

Ed’s ordeal with his gambling addiction reached a conclusion in recent episodes when the builder’s yard was set on fire.

After being questioned by the police and facing Michael’s (Ryan Russell) disgust that the fire was potentially started as part of an insurance job, a guilty Ed confirmed to Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that while he didn’t plan on starting the fire, he was technically responsible for it due to an accident with some white spirit bottles.

Ed went on to say that he headed to the chippy to create an alibi for himself, but wanted something to happen to the yard to get rid of everything he was feeling throughout the gambling relapse.

Dee-Dee was disgusted but she told her dad she wouldn’t tell Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) the truth, because she had already been through so much.

When the police confirmed no further action would be needed, Dee-Dee told Ed that this was God’s way of giving him another chance – he had to sort himself out and reconnect with people he had hurt along the way.

Coming up, Dee-Dee tells her dad to make a list of everything that was destroyed in the fire for the insurance company. Damon advises him to submit an inflated claim – aka lying to get more money – but Ed won’t hear of it.

However, when Ed goes to the bar, Damon grabs the form.

Damon’s sneaky behaviour doesn’t stay hidden for long, as Dee-Dee tears a strip off him for lying on the insurance forms.

But when Damon alludes to the fact she too has put her neck on the line for Ed, Dee-Dee’s left worried.

How much does Damon know?

And if he reveals Dee-Dee’s secret, what will this do to her career as a solicitor?
