DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is faced with a horrifying situation in Coronation Street next week that could ruin her life forever.

Things are already starting to fall apart for the detective sergeant, who recently took a step back from work after daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) put in a formal complaint against her.

After learning that Lisa had been clipped by a car while on duty, Betsy attempted to protect her by trying to get her suspended, which left workaholic Lisa horrified.

It came after Lisa opened up to Carla about how Becky, Lisa’s wife, was killed on duty after being mowed down by a car – something that left poor Betsy traumatised.

Having realised that Betsy is still clearly struggling, Lisa finally agreed to step away from her job for a while.

However, it seems that much more than her career is in jeopardy in upcoming scenes, as Lisa confides in Carla Connor (Alison King) with a huge bombshell.

As the investigation into Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) death continues, Lisa gets the strong sense that she is being framed for his murder.

Viewers will know that Joel was killed at the end of September, with his body being found a few days later in a river.

It was later established that he had suffered two blows to the head with a heavy weapon.

Next week, Lisa confides in Carla that someone planted her issue CS spray with the murder weapon and that she believes the killer is trying to set her up.

As the detective retraces her steps in a bid to try and work out who lifted the CS spray, will it lead her to the killer? Or is she simply trying to cover her own tracks?

With recent scenes having showed police uncovering an unsent text on Lisa’s phone suggesting that she wanted Joel dead, the evidence against her is stacking up. Could she be set to go down for murder?
