Coronation Street aired suspicious scenes involving Jesse Chadwick on Wednesday night

Coronation Street aired suspicious scenes involving Jesse Chadwick on Wednesday night, amid an exit on the ITV soap.

The character, who recent returned ahead of love interest Gail Platt’s departure from the show, is currently hiding something from residents. He and Gail’s son David Platt are hiding a stash of stolen money that David took from villain Damon Hay.

No one is looking for the money anymore, with it believed one of Harvey Gaskell’s men had stolen it. But David has had it all along, and now he doesn’t know what to do with it.

He took it in the hope of buying mum Gail’s home after she decided to sell up, in order to pay for granddaughter Bethany Platt’s medical bills. Her recent hospital dash left her family owing loads of money which Gail decided to help with, putting her house on the market.

Amid Carla Connor deciding to put an offer in, David vowed to save his home and stole the money. But now it seems he’s realised he cannot use it, as everyone knows he has no money so it’ll likely spark suspicion.

With his plans on hold, and hints Carla could be the new owner if the sale goes ahead, David is now keen to splash the cash. But on Wednesday night Jesse had a warning for the character.

David pushed Jesse on their plans to do something with the cash, ready to use it. But Jesse told him not to touch it, saying it was too soon to spend it.

Claiming it would spark suspicion, Jesse warned David they had to wait a bit longer. David seemed baffled, reminding Jesse he had told him he’d have a plan and they could use the cash.

Jesse then claimed that if they used the money now they would be in big trouble as it was too close to it going missing. David asked about laundering the money, and Jesse was very against it.

As David seemed annoyed, it was left there as if David agreed to leave it alone for now. But is Jesse stalling using the money, and is there a reason he wants David to leave it alone?

Viewers have been suspecting that Jesse could be targeting Gail an her family for their money. So now that he knows about the cash, is he holding off from doing something with it in the hope of stealing it all?
