Coronation Street death ‘sealed’ for Mason Radcliffe in chilling foreshadowing
Mason has wreaked havoc in Corrie since his first appearance on the cobbles but during one scene aired this Monday, the lad appeared to predict a grisly fate for himself
While he may have found some support in the form of Tim Metcalfe, Mason Radcliffe was certain that nobody could save him against his older brother Logan – could he be set for a sinister fate at his hands?
The lad portrayed by Luca Toolan has been given a redemption arc after tormenting Liam Connor for months but while many Coronation Street residents are still unconvinced by his change of behaviour, Weatherfield cabbie Tim (Joe Duttine) agreed to let the lad sleep in his garden shed and eat his food, unbeknownst to his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor).
But in scenes aired this Monday, November 11, on ITV, Tim was horrified to discover Sally’s rings had gone missing, the only thing she had to remember her mother by, and the evidence pointed straight to Mason being the culprit.
An unforgiving Sally immediately opted to get the police involved, while Tim tried his best to calm her down. Mason, on the other hand, tried to plead with her, stating that his brother was to blame for the theft and that, if he knew the authorities were involved, Logan would kill him.
As this Monday’s trip to the cobbles drew to a close, Mason returned to No.4 with a bruised face, indicating to Tim and Sally that Logan had beaten him when he’d tried to get Sally’s ring back. Regular viewers of the Manchester-based programme will know that Mason has been beaten by his brother on several occasions – but could these outbursts of violence become deadly?
Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) and Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) once tried to help Mason before the youngster began sleeping in the rough with Tim’s help and Logan, who is played by actor Harry Lowbridge, was able to interfere and sabotage his younger brother’s fresh start by forcing him to help him in a robbery.
In a new theory, Mason could be forced by Logan to take part in another one of his criminal deeds, which could lead him straight to a dangerous and murderous foe. Mason could then be killed off or simply fail at his task, leaving a furious Logan to lash out at him and, eventually, kill him.
This comes as another intense mystery unfolds in Coronation Street, following the death of duty solicitor Joel Deering. The villain, played by Calum Lill, was murdered by a mystery assailant, with a plethora of names being pointed out as potential suspects.
On Monday, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) was arrested for Joel’s death, prompting Carla Connor (Alison King) to take action for her pal and love interest. But when a flashback involving her led viewers to discover she’d spotted Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) roaming the cobbles on the night of Joel’s murder, it was enough for some to deduce they could be involved in the sinister deed.
