All spoilers for Coronation Street next week as wedding disaster rocks the cobbles

Wedding bells are set to ring on Coronation Street next week as Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) prepare to tie the knot.

Elsewhere, Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) are also undergoing huge life changes as they move into their forever home.

Things aren’t as rosy for the Websters, as Carl (Jonathan Howard) and Abi (Sally Carman) continue their steamy affair while Kevin (Michael Le Vell) frets about the future of his marriage.

Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) also face difficulties this week when Theo’s past is brought up.

With all that and more, it is set to be a busy week on the cobbles.

Monday, August 4

In the Rovers, Abi covers for Kevin after his cancer lie and tells everyone he has been given the all clear. As the locals congratulate Kevin, Abi sneaks out for some afternoon delight with Carl at the hotel.

Meanwhile, Kevin confides to Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) that he feels he is losing Abi.

At the hotel, Abi is shocked when she sees a message on Carl’s phone from Fiona. Carl confesses to Abi that he’s been doing illegal MOTs and other dodgy deals, and he’s conducted the whole thing from Kevin’s garage. How will she react?

When Abi returns home, Debbie urges her to think long and hard about her marriage because nobody could love her more than Kevin does. However, Abi is horrified when she tells Kevin about Carl’s dodgy dealings, only for him to reveal that he already knew.

Abi pays Carl a visit at the hotel wanting to know why he failed to tell her that Kevin was aware of the MOT scam. When Carl reveals that Kevin agreed not to report him on condition he didn’t tell her that he’d had the all clear from cancer, Abi’s fuming to realise Kevin’s still lying to her. Has Kevin pushed her into Carl’s arms once more?

Faced with an excited Kevin and Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) who reveal that Debbie’s booked them a holiday in Mallorca as a treat, will Abi agree to go?

Having saved money buying cheap suits for Dev and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain), Bernie is in the middle of her low-key hen do in the Bistro when word reaches the hens that the boys have hired a pole dancer at the Rovers. Bernie’s furious and hurries out.

As she storms into the Rovers, she finds the stags cheering on the pole dancer. How will she react?

One by one, the hens leave the Bistro to look for Bernie. Eventually, Aunty Rani ends up in the Rovers, but how will she react to what she discovers there?

An excited Todd tells Theo that the corner shop flat is up for rent. George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) admits to Todd that he’ll miss him when he moves out. In a bid to cheer him up, Todd suggests they go and join Dev on his stag do. Theo covers his irritation.

At the stag ,Theo gets angry when Todd has a go on the pole. He feigns a headache and insists they go home.

As Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) helps Carla and Lisa pack up the flat, he describes his new living arrangements and his weird flatmate. Carla feels sorry for him and Lisa’s left thoughtful.

Later, Ryan arrives carrying his rucksack. When Lisa explains that she asked Ryan to move in with them, Carla’s deeply touched.

Over a curry, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) learns more about Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and is upset to hear about how bad his upbringing was. Wanting to help his son, Kit swerves Dev’s stag do and takes Brody to the match instead.

Meanwhile, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) are shocked to discover that Joanie has old bruises on her arm and feel duty bound to let social services know.

Wednesday, August 6

Dev and Bernie’s wedding day goes from bad to worse when the quads fall ill and have to watch with Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) on the live stream. Even worse, Bernie forgets her lucky charm locket containing the photo of late son Paul Foreman, and when she runs home to get it, she disturbs a burglar.

Back at the Bistro, Debbie entertains the wedding guests by singing Hopelessly Devoted to You and proposing to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan)!

Eventually, Bernie returns to the Bistro and walks down the aisle with Kit.

With the service about to start, Dev and Bernie share loving looks, but suddenly Bernie struggles to breathe and collapses in front of a shocked Dev.

As Bernie lies on the Bistro floor, gasping for breath, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) comes to her aid while Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) calls an ambulance and Dev and the wedding guests watch helplessly.

At No.5, Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) notices the livestream has cut out just as an ambulance passes by. Will they get to Bernie in time?

At the Bistro, the wedding guests survey the untouched buffet, wondering what to do, when suddenly Asha arrives and announces that Dev wants the family at the hospital.

At No.13, Abi makes out to Kevin that she’s got a stomach bug and he’ll have to attend the wedding on his own. Abi meets up with Carl in his hotel bedroom and admits she feels terrible for lying to Kevin. Carl pulls her into a passionate embrace. Kevin returns home to find Abi dressed up to the nines. How will she explain herself?

Abi sneaks out to the ginnel to find Carl waiting for her. When Carl reiterates that he meant everything he said and he wants to be with her, Abi can’t help but grin.

When Todd chooses spending time with Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) over a night out with Theo, he is not impressed. At No.11, Summer invites Theo to join her and Todd for pizza in front of the telly, but he refuses and announces he’s going to the pub. Todd’s left bemused.

Friday, August 8

A drunk Aadi knocks back booze in Victoria Gardens and ignores Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) calls. She finally tracks him down at home and Aadi decides it is time to confess about what really happened at the party.

When Dev and Bernie arrive home, they are horrified when Aadi decides to come clean to them too.

When Theo takes a call that the social worker has arrived, Gary Windass (Mikey North) offers to run him home, but as the pair approach the van, they find a drunken Aadi leaning against it.

Theo tries to gently steer Aadi away, but he falls and bangs his head. Theo heads off to the meeting, leaving Gary and Dev to deal with Aadi, but he is shocked when police officer Jess approaches and tells him there’s been a report of an incident at the precinct and he needs to answer some questions.

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) calls at the flat and tells Todd he has seen Theo being taken off in a police car. When the social worker explains that they’ll have to reschedule the meeting and check if Theo’s crime is violent like the last time, Todd is perplexed and decides to try and find out more.

Kit asks Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) to join him and Brody for lunch in the cafe to get to know him better, but things don’t go quite to plan.

Ken Barlow (William Roache), Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) sit down to an awkward family tea.

When Tracy suggests that for Amy’s sake they should keep their divorce amicable and stop fighting, Steve’s relieved, while Amy is deeply suspicious of her Mum’s motives.

In the Rovers, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) urges George to join a dating app and stop pining for Eileen, but they’re interrupted by Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), who reveals that there’s a burst pipe at the Kabin. Jenny thanks George for fixing her leaky pipe and offers to cook him dinner.

Back at the Rovers, Glenda reveals to George that she’s set him up on a dating app and he’s already had some interest. Jenny tries to mask her disappointment.
