Amy Barlow lands a new job after mum Tracy’s shock exit in Coronation Street
CORONATION Street’s Amy Barlow is set to land a huge new gig on the cobbles.
The university student will find herself dipping her toes into the land of radio when an exciting new opportunity comes her way.
Amy has had a difficult 12 months and has recently found herself managing to get back on track after the trying time.
The youngster was left fighting for justice after she was too drunk to consent to sex with her best friend’s boyfriend Aaron Sandford which resulted in the lad raping her.
Amy at first struggled to piece the events of the evening together but eventually she opened up to those around her about the ordeal.
She even took her complaint to DS Swain who tried her best to support a vulnerable and fragile Amy.
Aaron was never fund guilty of a crime and instead tried to sue Amy for libel when she posted about the assault online.
His increasing guilt saw him drop the libel case and leave the area after realising the impact him being in Weatherfield had on Amy.
Since Aaron, Amy has been committed to raise awareness for rape victims and of women’s rights and her new job could serve as the perfect platform to showcase it.
In upcoming scenes, Coronation Street fans will see Aadi encourage Amy to apply for the role of student radio presenter.
It is hoped that she will be able to speak about the issues close to her heart and reach a wider audience.
Amy manages to land a spot hosting an interview on the air and she lines up a charity spokesperson to chat to.
However, the guest soon pulls out and she is forced to ask Aadi to help her out – a move which separately causes his twin sister Asha to be placed in grave danger.
Despite the chaos, Amy finds out that she has been handed her own radio presenting job for good and now she needs to line up even more guests.
She tells Bernie about the gig and later as she watches her son Paul recount funny stories to his PA, Hannah.
Could Paul be the perfect guest for Amy?
