Anticipate the return of vile pedophile Nathan Curtis in a harrowing Coronation Street storyline
Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance has got all the Coronation Street fans talking.
The troubled young woman vanished into think air a few weeks ago after telling Roy (David Neilson) she was going to start her life again elsewhere.
DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Craig (Colson Smith) then arrived at her flat to investigate, and are now assuming she has been murdered due to blood being found on the floor.
With speculation constant right now, one of the top theories from fans is that former character Nathan Curtis is involved.
In 2016, Nathan was responsible for grooming and exploiting 16-year-old Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon). The evil character was part of a group that would manipulate young girls, rape and trick them into thinking they’re in a relationship.
The storyline concluded for Bethany and Nathan when he planned to have her sent away to Belgium to work as a sex slave. Bethany learnt of Nathan’s true colours, found help from a family, who then called the police and had Nathan arrested.
Nathan, played by Christopher Harper, has been behind bars since 2017. While he was sentenced to a lengthy spell, we know when it comes to soapland there’s every possibility a huge plot twist could be thrown our way – is this the case for Nathan?
Taking to X, fans are continuing to share the theory he has returned and is involved in Lauren’s disappearance.
‘It has to be Nathan, they mentioned ages ago that Bethany would be brought into a huge story also involving Bobby…he’s the only person I can see it being’, one person wrote.
Another, picking up on previous comments about Bethany also being a part of the plot, said: ‘Nathan Curtis’s perspective on Bethany’s involvement in the story is intriguing. It’s always fascinating to see how characters’ backstories weave into the larger narrative.’
This week, DS Swain made the decision to arrest Roy for his apparent involvement in Lauren’s disappearance.
Discussing these scenes, Vicky Myers said: ‘She doesn’t know Roy, she doesn’t care about Roy. And irrelevant of what anyone else says to her, she deals in facts. She’s got to get to the bottom of this,’ she insisted. ‘Irrelevant to what anyone else says about this much-loved character on the Street, she doesn’t care about that. That’s of no interest to her whatsoever.’
‘I think that’s perhaps the cynics that we may become as people and a community, in that this almost seems too good to be true,’ Vicky said.
‘Do people really genuinely go and help someone and support someone and give them a little bit extra after they’ve done something terrible, and they’re there with the generosity?’
