Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) ended up being rushed to hospital in recent Coronation Street scenes after taking a tumble during a confrontation with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

The love rivals were both in attendance at Bertie Osbourne’s birthday party, and the tension between them was clear.

It was clear that Bethany was jealous of Daisy’s close relationship with Bertie, and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) only added fuel to the fire when she pointed out that Daisy had been spending a lot of time alone with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

As Bethany drank more and more, she tipsily decided to cut the cake, but after dropping a piece on the floor, it was clear she wasn’t up to the job.

Keen to prevent any disasters, Daisy tried to jump in, but end up twisting her ankle as Bethany pushed her away.

She wasn’t the only injured party, with Bethany also suffering a cut to the hand.

Concerned she may have broken something, Daisy decided she needed to go to the hospital, and Daniel agreed to take her.

As he waited for Daisy to be seen, Daniel was surprised to see Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in the waiting room, and asked him if he was here for Daisy.

Kit explained that he was actually with a colleague, but decided to check in on Daisy with Daniel after learning about her accident.

However, as the men approached Daisy, they were shocked to hear a nurse explaining that it was safe for her to have an x-ray while pregnant.

Daisy was horrified when she realised that her secret was out, and the nurse was full of apologies.

Later, Daisy told Kit that he was the father of her baby – though it soon became clear that she wasn’t telling the full truth.

During a clandestine meeting with Daniel in the ginnel, she admitted that she didn’t know for sure who the father was, and though the baby was likely Kit’s, she couldn’t rule Daniel out entirely.

Meanwhile, Kit explained the situation to Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), as he deliberated over how becoming a father would interfere with his career prospects.

Though Billy assured him that nothing much would change in that department, Kit had already made up his mind and later informed Daisy that, while he was prepared to pay his way, he didn’t want anything to do with the baby.

Elsewhere, Daniel got quite a shock when he realised that Cassie knew about Daisy’s pregnancy, and had worked out that he could be the father after catching them talking in the ginnel.

With Daniel threatening to expose Cassie’s sinister plot against Ken Barlow(William Roache), she warned him that if he talked, then so would she, and Bethany would find out the truth.

Is Daniel’s world set to fall apart?
