Billy Mayhew amused by discovery about Paul Foreman despite tragic health deterioration in Coronation Street spoiler video

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) continue to look for the light in the middle of a dark time in Coronation Street.

This week in the ITV soap, Paul made the discovery his speech has started slurring.

After singing karaoke with Billy in the pub, Paul watched a video of their performance and couldn’t believe how different he sounded.

In the flat, the new milestone started to overwhelm Paul. He struggled with the fact his motor neurone disease will eventually leave him unable to talk completely so Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell), wanting to help, suggested it might be a nice idea to update the device he will use when he’s unable to communicate on his own.

In this new video, Paul is playing back some of his new voice recordings. Both him and Billy find it amusing to hear the device say things like ‘jog on’ or ask for a cuppa.

In the centre of a horrific ordeal that will end with Paul dying, the couple know it’s important to find happiness and humorous moments wherever possible – and this is most certainly one of them.

Upcoming episodes of the ITV soap will see Billy and Paul say goodbye to Summer (Harriet Bibby) after accepting the opportunity to study at Boston University.

While Billy cooks the family a dinner before Summer’s departure, Paul and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) head to another meeting with the speech therapist.

At the hospital, they are told they should consider fitting Paul with a feeding tube as his condition has deteriorated.

Over the meal in the flat, Paul fights back the tears as they all enjoy their roast dinner and he is forced to eat his puréed.

The next day, Summer leaves Weatherfield for Boston – but how long will she be away?
