It has seen Paul’s mum Bernie struggle to remain close to Billy amid their constant rows.

However, it seems that the reality of appearing to be shunned by Paul’s family soon sets in for Billy as she feelings of isolation continue to grow.

In upcoming scenes, Bernie decided to make an executive decision regarding her relationship with Billy.

Insisting that Paul would still want Billy as part of the family, she tells Gemma that they should forget about everything and welcome him back into the fold with open arms.

But it seems that Gemma has already made her own mind up about Billy.

Upon learning that he made a pass at Todd on the day of Paul’s funeral, Gemma refuses to be a comfort to Billy.

Going against Bernie, Gemma storms out with it is suggested that they play happy families with Billy once again.

But what will this mean for Billy as he continues to spiral out of control?

In September, actor Daniel Brocklebank who plays Billy teased fans that his character would face a huge battle.

Speaking to The Sun and other press Daniel addressed how far Billy could spiral in the aftermath of losing his husband.

Daniel revealed: “Hopefully not to the heroin extent!

“He did go off the rails a little bit, but hopefully not to shooting up in the aisle of a church extent as we saw it before.”

He added: “Billy’s good in a crisis if it’s not his crisis.”
