Coronation Street fans were left devastated over Dylan Wilson’s departure, so much so that they’ve begged actor Liam McCheyne to return to the show.

Dylan left the eponymous street earlier this week after mum Violet (Jenny Platt) returned to the cobbles following a 13 year gap, determined to get to the bottom of the reason why her son had got himself in trouble with the law.

The teen, as viewers know, was involved in a scandal at school after being pressured by Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) to bully Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).

Mason wielded a knife at poor Liam – but then planted the weapon on Dylan, who was subsequently facing criminal charges when found in possession of the item.

Violet was unaware of Dylan’s involvement in the crime and thus, upon staging her cobbles comeback, she berated Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), putting the blame for their son’s behaviour firmly at his door.

In emotional scenes, Dylan then left the street with Violet.

Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan, took to social media following the episode to share a selfie with co-star Jenny, marking Violet’s return in a special way.

Fans, however, were quick to plead with him to return, devastated at the prospect of Dylan leaving Weatherfield permanently.

‘Please tell me you are coming back your a great actor and the future of corrie,’ exclaimed one Instagram user, while another added: ‘Liam please don’t leave coronation street if you leave then i will stop watching it.’

‘Wait has Dylan official left the cobbles,’ asked one fan.

With star Jenny Platt thought to have filmed more than one episode, it’s certainly a possibility that this isn’t the end of the storyline just yet.
