Coronation Street fans believe they’ve pieced together the puzzle of Bernie Winter’s other secret offspring – who is already a resident of the cobbles.
Bernie, played by Jane Hazlegrove, first graced the soap in 2019 as the estranged mother of Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), quickly becoming a fan favourite.
She’s been at the centre of numerous major storylines over the years. In 2023, her son Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), leading to his tragic death in September 2024, with Bernie at his side in heart-wrenching scenes.
Adding to the drama, Bernie was taken aback when her long-lost son Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) showed up last year. Bernie had given up Kit – originally named Zodiac – for adoption in 1993, unable to juggle raising a newborn alongside her two year old twins, Paul and Gemma.

She discovered two years later that Kit had been adopted by the Green family, reports Leicestershire Live. Kit has since made himself at home in Weatherfield, becoming a familiar face on the iconic cobbles.
However, his relationship with Bernie remains tense, with Kit previously declaring he would never recognise Bernie as his mother. Despite this, the pair maintain a cordial relationship, largely due to Paul’s dying wish for Bernie and Kit to reconcile.

In a potential dramatic twist, fans are speculating that Bernie may have another secret child. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, viewers are suggesting that newcomer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) could be Bernie’s offspring.
“Wild theory but Mick looks so much like Paul. Will we learn that HE’S Bernie’s son? And if so, are he and Kit both her sons, or was there some switch or mistake made early on? What do you think?” pondered one eagle-eyed fan.

The comments section lit up with other viewers who were quick to back the wild speculation. Another fan speculated: “I said the same as soon as I saw him.” A third joined in the chorus of agreement: “Yes definitely related, has to be!”.
Mick (played by Joe Layton) has already been stirring the pot – and there’s chatter that he might even have murder on his mind. One viewer speculated: “Or what about the new neighbour? He’s dodgy!”.
Mick burst onto the scene earlier this year alongside his wife Lou (Farrel Hegarty), settling into Mawdsley Street. Described as “nightmare neighbours” they’re tipped to wreak “absolute carnage” among the locals.
