Coronation Street child drowning horror teased in unsettling first look
Coronation Street viewers will see one youngster at risk of drowning on the ITV soap next week leading to a hospital dash, as his loved ones fret over his safety
One youngster could face serious danger next week on Coronation Street, in a horrifying drowning twist.
Bertie Osbourne’s life is in danger when he goes wandering off, before trying to retrieve his football that has fallen into an uncovered hot tub. Little Bertie goes missing while in the care of Jenny Connor, sparking a search for his whereabouts.
But horror could be about to unfold when the youngster, aged six, falls into the tub of water with no one around. After wandering into Tim Metcalfe’s garden, he spots his ball in the water and is shown trying to reach for it.
A new clip shows the moment he climbs the steps after noticing the ball, before his arm is shown trying to grab it as the ball moves towards the back. Bertie will end up falling into the water as he fails to grab the football – but will he be okay?
The preview clip ends before the moment happens, and we only see him grabbing for the ball. Meanwhile Steve McDonald is wooing Cassie Plummer in Tim’s house after a moment of passion between the on/off lovers.

Secretly reigniting their romance amid drama between Cassie and the Barlows, the pair can’t keep their hands of each other – unaware of the possible tragedy unfolding at the back of the house. Cassie notices the hot tub lid is off, with Steve admitting he planned to have a dip.
As the pair get steamy once more he invites her out into the garden for some fun in the jacuzzi. Cassie suggests they continue their ‘afternoon delight’ in the tub with the pair soon making their way out.
Meanwhile as people search for Bertie he can’t hear them due to the noise of the jacuzzi jets. Spoilers have revealed Steve and Cassie go out and are horrified and fearful as they find Bertie has fallen into the tub.

It’s teased Bernie is in serious danger and possibly drowning in the tub as Steve and Cassie spring into action. Nothing is said about his condition but it seems they manage to rescue him and take him to the safety of inside the house.
An image shows Bertie soaking wet and being cared for by his stepmother Daisy Midgeley, with Jenny looking on horrified. Daisy soon rushes the youngster to hospital to get him checked over, but will Bertie be okay and will Daisy hold it against Jenny?
It comes ahead of a feud building between Daisy and Jenny over a secret windfall that Jenny has not disclosed to her, amid them owing Carla Connor money. Carla faces danger of her own next week meanwhile, as she’s held hostage by her armed brother Rob Donovan.
Tracy Barlow and Lisa Swain are also caught up in the hostage drama, and at least one person will be shot. It has not been revealed if the mystery victim lives or dies.
