Coronation Street's Debbie Webster reels as Todd Grimshaw looks unamused and Abi Webster is in shock

Coronation Street fans should prepare for an emotional week on the cobbles, as confirmed in our new spoiler videos, with one of the show’s most-loved characters receiving life-changing news.

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), as viewers know, is set to get diagnosed with early onset dementia and our preview clips reveal a first look at the moment the hotelier is told that dementia is a possibility.

Metro exclusively confirmed the story last year, with fans devastated at the prospect of losing their beloved Debbie that they launched a petition to try and save her.

The storyline officially kicks off next week, with Debbie concerned after a series of incidents.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is left upset by Theo (James Cartwright) but he struggles to resist the newcomer after an apology.

Abi (Sally Carman), meanwhile, gets into a showdown with a new character named carl – who has a connection much closer to home than she knows.

For a first look at all the above, check out the latest batch of our weekly spoiler videos.

Monday April 7

Theo approaches Todd on a break from work and apologises for the way he behaved previously, reiterating that he really likes him – and would be keen to see where this romance leads.

Todd, despite his reservations, ultimately agrees to give the newcomer another chance, revealing that No. 11 is free if he wants to accompany him back home.

‘I thought you’d never ask’, grins Theo as they make their way to the property.

Wednesday April 9

Concerned after a series of incidents, Debbie makes an appointment with a private clinic. After she recounts the incidents in question, the doctor makes a referral to a neurologist, who will carry out some cognitive tests and an MRI.

Debbie is keen to know why she might need such tests, pleading with the doctor to tell her what he thinks is going on.

Despite his initial reluctance, the doctor reveals that he’s concerned her symptoms could be indicative of early onset of dementia. Debbie reels.

Friday April 11

Abi heads to Fresco’s to pick up some medicine for Kevin when a fellow customer attempts to take her parking space. Fuming, Abi exits the vehicle and confronts the man – named Carl – on the matter.

Carl doesn’t take the situation very seriously and tries to place the blame on her, prompting Abi to reveal that her husband has cancer and that she has been receiving treatment for PTSD.

Carl is taken aback and as he attempts to smooth things over, Abi sees red, lashing out and hitting him in the face.
