Coronation Street ‘confirms’ it’s curtains for Roy as legend is attacked in prison

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is in more danger than ever before in Coronation Street now he has come face to face with Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron).

Former far-right gang leader Griff has made a return to Weatherfield prison. When we first met Griff – the man who manipulated Max (Paddy Bever) into joining the group – we were also introduced to Lauren (Cait Fitton), who spent time with the men as a result of her father’s views.

Unlike many Weatherfield residents, Griff believes Roy killed Lauren and has been determined to get revenge. In tonight’s (May 29) episode of the ITV soap, Griff continued his plan, which involved fellow inmate Roscoe luring Roy to the prison library.

Meanwhile, in Weatherfield, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) was getting very stressed. She is representing Roy and trying her best to find a shred of evidence that proves he wasn’t responsible for Lauren’s death – but things really aren’t looking good.

During a chat with Roy, Dee-Dee confirmed that the police will struggle to believe Roy didn’t send messages to Lauren because they are structured in similar style to texts on his phone.

The frustrating development led Roy to telling DS Swain (Vicky Myers) about Bobby’s (Jack Carroll) false statement, which resulted in him getting arrested.

Fortunately, Bobby was released and returned to the cafe. There, Dee-Dee arrived and learnt from Bethany (Lucy Fallon) that Nathan (Christopher Harper) had been arrested.

Dee-Dee left the cafe feeling hopeful but unbeknownst to her, Roy was being faced with a new threat.

In his cell, Roy came face to face with Griff. He called the cafe owner a ‘paedo’ and hid a weapon behind his hand.

In this new video, we see the continuation of this deadly moment between Roy and Griff.

An angry Griff tells Roy that Lauren’s father Reece feels broken at the fact he doesn’t know where her body is, and reckons Roy knows where it is.

After flashbacks that reveal the moment Lauren got attacked, Griff then asks Roy one more time for a confession.

With Griff out for blood, can Roy escape this?
