Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in Coronation Street has confirmed he’s a bent copper.
The new face arrived a few months ago and was confirmed to be not only a police officer, but the biological son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
So far, Kit hasn’t made a great deal of effort to build relationships with Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), and that’s largely due to the anger he still feels towards Bernie for putting him in care.
Away from his family, we’ve slowly learnt Kit is very good at manipulating someone into getting what he wants. And by someone, we mean his colleague Craig (Colson Smith).
Previously, they enjoyed an afternoon in the pub which saw Craig hint at his history of ‘massaging’ the rules of the law to protect someone he loved.
Tonight, Kit was back in the pub with Craig after catching Beth (Lisa George) and her sidekick trying to flog counterfeit t-shirts.
With the beer flowing, it wasn’t long until Craig was chatting about Beth’s criminal activity and some money sitting in his building society account. Kit absolutely loved this and reassured Craig he would keep things quiet because after all, they’re basically partners now.
Later on, Kit was seen in a ginnel talking to Beth’s sidekick.
At first, the man feared he was going to go to prison for the crime, but then Kit revealed his plan.
Kit told the dealer to kick Beth off his team and welcome him aboard instead. Wanting to earn extra money, Kit warned the man and said if he didn’t do this, he’d easily report him to the police instead.
So, as we expected, Kit Green is a corrupt police officer.
After previously planting evidence that got Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) arrested, it’s safe to assume Kit has been doing this a long time.
What else could he be capable of?
