Coronation Street confirms ‘the truth’ for jailed Roy as questions are answered in new spoiler video

A new Coronation Street spoiler video unveils the moment DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) asks Roy Cropper (David Neilson) for the truth behind his falling out with Carla Barlow (Alison King).

This week’s epic instalments will finally see Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) killer be unmasked, following her disappearance at the end of February.

Since then, Roy has been prime suspect and having been refused bail twice, has been spending time at His Majesty’s Pleasure ahead of the trial date.

The residents of Weatherfield have, understandably, been desperate to free him and have been on their own search for answers.

In tonight’s (27th May) episode, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was on her own warpath, and set her sights on ensuring vile paedophile Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) was arrested.

 

Finding one of Lauren’s hair bobbles at No. 8, she headed down to the building site Nathan is working on and planted it in his van.

However, he quickly caught her in the act and detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) ensured her that his team were working around the clock to find the culprit.

Later, Daniel (Rob Mallard) told girlfriend Bethany (Lucy Fallon) that he’d seen Nathan be arrested, and forensics team search his van.

Is he responsible?

Tomorrow’s episode will see DS Swain sit down with Roy and demand he comes clean about Carla and her nephew Bobby (Jack Carroll) perverting the course of justice.

Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that, in an act of desperation to free Roy, Bobby fabricated a story and lied to Swain that he’d seen a man wearing a balaclava in Lauren’s flat shortly after she went missing.

Carla was dead set against it, but when he implicated her as his alibi, she was forced to go along with every last detail – and in doing so, Roy shut her off.

So far he’s kept shtum about their plan, but will he tell the truth this time around?
