Coronation Street ‘confirms’ who helps save Roy – and it’s not Carla or Nina
Disaster strikes for Roy Cropper (David Neilson) this week in Coronation Street but thankfully, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) is on hand to help.
Beloved character Roy is currently behind bars for Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) murder. We know Roy didn’t commit the crime, but he remains one of the main suspects due to his past and how he spent a great deal of time helping Lauren out before she vanished.
In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Roy calls the cafe hoping to speak with Nina (Mollie Gallagher).
It’s Carla (Alison King) who gets given the phone by Shona (Julia Goulding), but she makes out that it’s a dodgy line and ends the call.
Back in his cell, Roy has another flashback of Lauren approaching the cafe. Just as he notices something odd about her clothes, a prison officer bangs on the door, causing Roy to lose his chain of thought.
Later on, when Nina arrives to visit Roy, she grows concerned when time ticks by and he still doesn’t show.
After Nina expresses her worries, a prison officer lets himself into Roy’s cell, only to find him collapsed and on the floor.
In the week, Mary visits a desolate Roy in hospital. When Roy reveals that he keeps trying to remember the details of an important conversation between Max (Paddy Bever) and Lauren, Mary urges him not to give up because it will probably come to him eventually.
It appears Mary’s boost is exactly what Roy needed as he then calls Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) from prison with an idea.
The cafe owner tells Dee-Dee about Lauren’s necklace and says if they can trace where it’s from, they might be able to find her mystery boyfriend.
The chat with Mary clearly helps Roy – but will the lead with Lauren’s necklace be enough to prove his innocence?
