Coronation Street confirms who stole Damon Hay’s money – and it’s someone unexpected
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has been terrified in recent weeks after learning that Damon Hay’s (Ciaran Griffiths) secret stash of money has gone missing.
Damon was caught committing a robbery for dangerous gangster brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) earlier this year, but recently admitted that he had managed to keep some of the cash stashed away from the police.
After hearing about Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) medical bills, Damon offered the money to Sarah. However, before she had the chance to accept, they found that it had gone missing.
In tonight’s episode, Sarah was left horrified when she got a call from Damon, warning her that Harvey knew about the missing money and had sent someone to find it.
Things turned nasty when Damon was attacked in his cell mid phone-call, and it was revealed that Harvey’s crony was already in the flat, where Bethany was home alone.
Sarah rushed back just in time and scared off the intruder, who had been unable to locate the missing money.
Later, she paid David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) a visit, where she once again wondered if Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) was the money thief.
However, she was interrupted by a phone call from an unknown number, stating that they wanted their money back and that Damon wouldn’t be able to warn her next time.
David appeared concerned, wondering what they were going to do next, but a twist followed.
That evening, he caught daughter Lily (Brooke Malonie) rooting around under the stairs for a bicycle helmet, and instantly grew tense.
Once she’d found what she was looking for, she headed off, and David immediately checked beneath the stairs, where he was relieved to find a huge stash of cash.
With David having stolen Damon’s money, are the Platts in trouble?
