Coronation Street ‘confirms’ who will expose killer Joel – and it’s not Dee-Dee

Joel and Dee-Dee look worried in Coronation Street

Despite the chatter about secrets between newly engaged Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Coronation Street killer Joel Deering (Calum Lill), it seems like another resident may have some suspicions…

As viewers of the ITV soap know, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) disappeared from her flat at the end of February and when blood was found in the flat the police soon suspected that Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was the one responsible.

This was because he’d befriended Lauren, given her a job and then attempted to clean her precinct flat after she vanished. In doing so, he disposed of some vital evidence.

The finger soon pointed to paedophile Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), who is currently locked up for the crime, but as always – fans know the truth.

In a dramatic week on the Street, it was revealed through flashback sequences that Joel and Lauren had previously had a sexual relationship, and that he’d bludgeoned her over the head with a chair leg.

Since then he’s managed to evade justice, with Nathan about to spend the rest of his life behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit.

In tonight’s (21st June) instalment, Joel told Dee-Dee that he was sad to keep their engagement secret from his parents.

We first met the couple a few weeks ago, and it didn’t exactly go to plan when they began berating Dee-Dee for her upbringing and choice of job.

Heading out to work, he arrived at Weatherfield Police Station and bumped into Max Turner’s ex-girlfriend, and Lauren’s neighbour, Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos).

Sabrina explained that her brother Gav (Noah Olaoye) had been wrongfully arrested and she was waiting to see if he’d be released.

Joel swiped in and offered her legal support, but when she explained they’d be unable to afford it his interest was piqued.

Handing her his business card, he noted that they may be able to come to an ‘alternative arrangement’, and quickly suggested that Gav may qualify for legal aid.

A friend of Sabrina soon arrived and glanced at Joel in a menacing way and headed inside.

Does she know something about him, and could Sabrina be the one who exposes him?

Or will the girls be his next victims?

This scene is an eerily similar to Joel’s very first ever scene, which saw him represent Lauren after she smashed up Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls)’ salon.

Quite the foreshadowing.
