Coronation Street viewers will see Leanne Battersby seemingly reveal her true plan for Rowan Cunliffe next week on the ITV soap.
It seems she could be working against him after all despite being duped by him and his scam institute. She makes a decision next week that could change everything, and could be the moment Rowan is taken down.
While it seems Leanne is prepared to turn against Amy Barlow and even blackmail her over recent events, a clip for next week’s episodes massively hints that Leanne’s true target is Rowan. We see her doing something behind his back that could stop him from targeting Amy, amid her plot to expose the Institute.
Viewers know that leader Rowan manipulated and brainwashed Leanne earlier this year into investing in his ‘self-improvement’ organisation. She’s been duped into becoming a member, with her task then being to recruit others.
Amy was encouraged to join, and sadly she parted ways with £40,000 after being tricked into giving it to Rowan. He’s now refusing to give the money back, with Amy and her mother Tracy now keen to expose him.

As the drama continues next week, Rowan forces Leanne to pick a side and tells her she must stop Amy taking action. But in a preview, Leanne confirms to Rowan that no matter what she says, Amy is refusing to back down.
She then shows her sinister side, appearing to confirm to Rowan that she will help him blackmail Amy for daring to go against the organisation. Rowan’s impressed, and praises her “loyalty and strength”, as Leanne suggests they go through Amy’s files they have on her to find something to use against her.
Rowan recently recorded sessions with Amy talking about her past, and Leanne is tasked with going through the files to find something. But as Rowan steps away after giving Leanne the laptop, we see her keeping an eye on him before quickly taking action.
Not wanting him to see, she quickly appears to delete the files they have on Amy, before she starts looking at other files. She ends up coming across files labelled with her name, so what will she find out?
It seems she’s working against Rowan now, given instead of finding stuff to target Amy with she’s deleting all the information they have on her. Leanne clearly wants to stop Rowan, but how far will she go and does this mean her true plan is to expose him?
