There’s heartbreak ahead in Coronation Street, as one couple hit the rocks next week.

The latest set of spoilers for the ITV soap have confirmed that Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) blossoming romance comes to an abrupt end, after he has had enough of her recent behaviour.

Soap fans have seen Michael begin to get cold feet about their relationship in recent days, as Glenda continues to bicker with her brother George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) over their late father Archie’s estate.

The siblings were both left his funeral business in his will, but since his death, George has assumed sole responsibility, with Glenda initially left in the dark that she was the rightful owner to half of it.

With Glenda having since opted to launch legal action against George by going after half of the business as well as her brother’s house, tensions have continued to bubble between the pair.

Despite Glenda wondering if their feud is putting Michael off, next week that is revealed to be the case.

In scenes to air on Monday, George approaches Michael hoping he will be able to talk some sense into Glenda.

However, he is surprised when Michael reveals they are no longer together and he disapproves of her recent behaviour.

Will Glenda reconsider her approach to George in an effort to win Michael back, or are they over for good?

Tony Maudsley, who plays George, previously explained George’s reasons for not letting Glenda in on the business.

He told us: ‘He’s in this quandary of not want to short-change his sister but also not wanting to hand her half a business that she’s going to sink into the ground in five seconds, if she gets her hands on it!

‘She was never a responsible kid. She couldn’t even look after her pets properly. Pets died and she went and got another one or she’d wait for a new fad to kick in and say she wanted a terrapin. Things like that.’
