Roy was the last person to see Lauren alive before her sudden disappearance, and has been implicated in the case after he was caught deep-cleaning her flat.

Things escalated further when he was found with a spade and black bin bags after a trip to the bat roost.

Since then Roy has been flooded by abuse and trolling which will see him pushed to breaking point.

However, fans are not liking the storyline and have called out some major blunders.

Taking to an online forum, one fan pointed out that the police didn’t ask Roy for an alibi on the day of Lauren’s disappearance.

They said: “multiple characters see him working in the café that day. Is an alibi for the day not the most important question to ask?

“If he was around when Lauren disappeared and in public view, it couldn’t have been him?”

Another wrote: “Yet still no evidence that Lauren is even dead.”

A third penned: “This makes no difference to ‘The Weatherfield Police’ it’s a murder inquiry, without a body. It’s a missing from home inquiry!!!! FFS!”

And Roy’s situation is about to get worse as Corrie bosses have teased what’s to come for Roy, including getting jailed for murder.

Roy will be left reeling in shock as Evelyn reveals that his late wife’s Hayley’s son, Christian, has posted some hurtful things about him and Hayley online.

Meanwhile, Lauren’s Mum, Kerry, calls at the café and introduces herself to Roy and Nina.

But they soon learn she is not really Kerry, but a stranger called Alice, who secretly films Roy’s living room and records a commentary making him out to be a murderer.

When Roy tries to stop her filming, she stumbles and bangs her head.

Accusing him of assault, Alice hurries away and gets Roy into more trouble.

Dee-Dee returns to the café and breaks the news to Carla, Nina, Shona and Evelyn that Roy has been charged with the murder of Lauren Bolton.

Roy sits alone in his police cell, his mind completely numb with fear.

Can anyone help Roy or will he go to prison for a murder he didn’t commit?
