Coronation Street exit ‘sealed’ for resident after brutal betrayal days after Gail’s departure
The Platt household has been a whirlwind of activity in recent days, as they bid adieu to Gail (Helen Worth) following her Christmas Day nuptials to Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson). However, amidst the festivities, David (Jack P.
Shepherd) was preoccupied with his own issues.
David had been suspecting his wife Shona ( Julia Goulding ) of infidelity and was convinced that Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) was the man she was secretly seeing. On the wedding day, he confronted Adam, using alcohol to loosen his tongue, only to realise he’d accused the wrong man.
Observing Shona’s interaction with PC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) during his mother’s farewell, David realised from a few cutting comments that Kit was the one who had slept with his wife.

The revelation seems to be taking a toll on David, who was noticeably absent from Friday’s episode of the ITV soap. Throughout the show, viewers saw Shona sending numerous messages to him, increasingly worried about his location, reports Lancs Live.
Sitting down with Max Turner (Paddy Bever), Shona finally confessed her concerns and considered reporting David as missing to the police.
Despite Max’s attempts to reassure Shona, telling her that David always lands on his feet and works things out, the episode ended on a concerning note with a troubling scene featuring David.

He was spotted wandering the streets of a deserted car park where homeless people were huddled around a metal bin with a fire. As he came across the fire, he received another message from Shona, urging him to call.
After a few moments, he tucked his phone back into his pocket and continued to distance himself from the unfolding drama in Wethersfield, giving the impression that he has no plans to return anytime soon. Could the Platts be bracing themselves for another heartbreak following Gail’s exit?
Producer Kate Brooks hinted at upcoming turmoil for David, following his theft from inmate Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), which she labelled as a misstep.
Acknowledging that the situation begins to spiral out of control, she elaborated: “The story we’re telling is one of a very desperate David, trying to protect his family and keep Harvey and his goons at bay.”
“He is struggling to navigate that and to pay back his big debt. He’s struggling to protect his family. It all comes to a massive head in early February, when we play a massive stunt that has huge consequences for David. So, in trying to protect everyone and do the right thing, he ends up losing quite a few things that he holds dear.”
Although David has good intentions, Kate revealed he messes up, which results in major consequences for his family and the wider community. She added: “Somebody does get embroiled in David’s downfall, which is quite unexpected. ”
