Coronation Street predict chilling Daisy Midgeley twist as unhinged barmaid spirals out of control
CORONATION Street fans are convinced they have worked out the soap’s next serial killer after the demise of Stephen Reid.
The barmaid – played by Charlotte Jordan – has been predicted as the next “Meena Jutla of the cobbles”.
Ex-Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks will be taking over Coronation Street as executive producer very soon.
And some fans think she will create a Corrie character similar to Emmerdale’s Meena Jutla – the village serial killer.
Meena caused havoc as she killed Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate, and Ben Tucker.
Her dramatic storyline came to an end in April 2022 as she was finally sentenced in court.
Previous Corrie characters such as Pat Phelan, Geoff Metclafe and Stephen Reid have been great soap villains on the ITV soap.
But with them gone, viewers are now calling for a new one and they think they are already residing in Weatherfield.
Fans predict Daisy Midgeley will turn to the dark side as keeping the secret about the stolen money to buy the pub back will make her spiral out of control.
One fan asked: “With confirmation that Kate Brooks is Corrie’s new EP and the tendency for producers to play their greatest hits, do we think that she will look to go one further and replicate a Meena Jutla of the cobbles? Does Daisy fit the bill?”
Another agreed: “I guess out of current cast maybe Daisy maybe the best suited.”
A third commented: “Charlotte Jordan did say she’d love to play a serial killer.”
However, some fans cannot see Daisy has a murderer as one said: “Daisy is proving to be such a cruddy criminal mastermind over the Rovers theft, that this would become the shortest serial killer storyline in soap history.”
Another added: “I wouldn’t want Daisy to be a serial killer. What I do want is Ryan and Daisy to one day be Landlord and Landlady of the Rovers.”
A third chimed in: “Absolutely not. My lovely Daisy would never!”
Viewers will remember that Daisy and Jenny stole money from Stephen’s account after his death to buy back the pub.
However, that money had actually belonged to Carla Connor, and was taken from the Underworld factory bank account by the serial killer as he planned his escape from Weatherfield.
Although she was initially against Daisy’s idea to use Carla’s money to buy the Rovers, Jenny had a change of heart following a showdown with the businesswoman on the cobbles, which led her to find out business was back on track at Underworld.
