Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ why David Platt won’t die as he plots own death in heartbreaking move
Coronation Street fans are convinced David Platt ‘won’t die’ as he was heard plotting his own death in a desperate act. The hairdresser hasn’t been having the easiest of times since he became involved with gangster Harvey Gaskell.
And it’s already been revealed that a car will plough into David on the street, but it’s not clear whether it’s linked to him planning his own death, in a bid to free his family from Harvey’s grasp.
But he won’t be the only victim as Daisy Midgeley is also caught in the speeding vehicle’s path and as fans know the Rovers Return co-owner and barmaid is more than 12 weeks pregnant with her first child.
During Monday night’s (March 3) edition of the ITV soap, David was seen having to be convinced to go to the court where his stepson Max Turner was being sentenced over the arson he committed on his family’s home just weeks ago, which left him fighting for his life as he became trapped inside.
Max was eventually given six and a half years in prison, leaving him and his family in shock. Later, David headed back to the cobbles with Shona but turned to drinking in the Rovers.

After he left the pub, David headed to Audrey’s salon and while there, he was confronted by Andy Garland, who pulled out a knife. He told David that Harvey wanted him dead for his life insurance payout, after David stole Harvey’s money months ago.
Andy went on to leave without causing any damage but later in the episode he was called back to the salon by David who had a shocking offer. In heartbreaking scenes, David saw no way out of his feud with Harvey with his kids at risk, especially Max now that he is in prison.
David told Andy the only way to get Harvey off of both their backs was for him to die and so he asked Andy to kill him but to make it look like an accident as he didn’t want Andy to face any trouble in the aftermath.. Andy asked if he was sure to which David said if he didn’t die, his kids might.
But Corrie fans aren’t convinced this is the end of David, 25 years after Jack P Shepherd made his first appearance in the role. @elsiebee4079 suggested: “He’s not being killed off. It’s just a way to write Daisy out. The car hits her too.” @anniecarr1949 replied: “Yes but I don’t think she dies either. Maybe she’ll lose the baby.”
Others, meanwhile, simply had a warnign for Corrie bosses. @jordsdanx said: “We can NOT lose David Platt.” @johnneladderley commented: “David don’t you dare leave the show. I don’t think I would be able to watch it if @jackpshepherd88 is not on Corrie.”
