Coronation Street favourite Carla Connor gets worrying health news as exit ‘sealed’

Carla Connor got some worrying news on Coronation Street tonight – with fans fearing it could lead to an exit.

The much-loved show favourite, played by Alison King, seemed to be struggling with her health. It looked like she was having hallucinations, like she had done in the past following the death of Rana Habeeb at the factory.

Years later, she was drugged by Stephen Reid, who had been giving her LSD and causing her to have hallucinations so he could take over her business and steal the funds the company were making.

In shocking scenes this evening, she collapsed in her flat and was rushed to hospital, where she was given a devastating health diagnosis following the attack a few weeks back at the hands of Mason’s siblings.

Tonight, the doctor told her: “From what you described, it sounds like it could possibly be sepsis. We’ll let you know as soon as we can,” as Roy reminded the doctor that Carla had just one kidney so it might cause issues.

Roy was right to be worried about her kidney. Carla suffered from kidney failure several years ago, with her half-brother Aidan Connor giving her his kidney back in 2018, and Carla left worried if it had been damaged by the infection.

Fans have been left concerned for Carla’s future, with one writing: “Would make a nice change if they’d just let Carla have a happy relationship… #Corrie.” Another added: “the way carla thinks lisa is going to run a mile because she is poorly #corrie.”

In sad scenes, Carla also made a big decision about her relationship with DS Lisa Swain. Whilst the pair had been stronger than ever, Carla panicked about Lisa losing her, given that she also lost her wife Becky, and decided to end their relationship.

In emotional scenes yesterday, Carla confessed she was falling for Lisa. Vicky said of the scenes: “It absolutely floors Lisa. She’s just come in from work and goes to the Rovers to ring in the New Year. It takes her by surprise and she doesn’t return the sentiment. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel the same way, I just think she’s not quite ready. This is a massive step for her.”

In a separate interview, she added: “t was a challenge to put it lightly! Ali and I knew exactly where it was headed as we shoot so far in advance, but I was delighted as soon as I heart about the relationship.

“It’s taken Lisa by surprise. She didn’t want to trust her feelings, but there’s definitely longevity there.”
