Coronation Street favourite Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) is swapping Weatherfield for Dublin, but she was left disappointed as she said her final goodbyes in recent scenes.

Alya was recently offered a new job opportunity in Dublin, which she was eager to take, especially after falling out with colleague Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).

However, it didn’t take long for Adam and Alya to go from enemies to lovers, and they soon found themselves falling for each other.

Unfortunately, when new boss Rich walked in on them snogging, it seemed as though her new job was off the table.

Fortunately, Rich met with Alya to inform her that the job was still hers, as he had been informed that she was a reliable employee and the incident with Adam had very much been a one off.

Thrilled, Alya met with Adam to give him the good news, and soon she worked out that it had been Adam who had managed to persuade Rich to let her keep the job.

However, when it came time for Alya’s friends to wave her off, Adam was nowhere to be seen, which left her gutted.

Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) noticed Alya’s disappointment, and informed her that he had had to go, as he had an early start.

Alya revealed that she was surprised he didn’t say goodbye, but she was soon distracted by Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) calling her over to arrange when they would next meet up.

With Alya only heading to Dublin for six months, could there be a future for her and Adam when she returns, or has Adam blown it by not being there to say goodbye?
