Coronation Street favourites ‘in need of exorcist’ as vicious feud explodes

Coronation Street siblings George and Glenda Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley and Jodie Prenger) are currently embroiled in an all out war over their inheritance, and it seems that their relationship may be beyond repair.

George was left shocked when a version of dad Archie’s will was uncovered which revealed that he intended to leave half of the family business to Glenda.

George has been in charge of Shuttleworth’s for years, and the idea of giving his financially untrustworthy sister some control left him horrified.

Though he planned to keep the truth about the will under wraps, it didn’t take Glenda long to find out, and she soon grew determined to get back what was rightfully hers.

Eager to buy Little Big Shotz from Estelle, Glenda wanted her share of the inheritance, but George has refused to hand it over.

Because of this, Glenda decided to take him to court to sue him for what she was owed, as well as half of the family home.

Wanting to get things sorted out amicably, George and Glenda decided to sit down for a discussion, to see if they could settle out of court, with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) acting as their mediator.

However, as soon as they sat down, it became clear that things weren’t going to be as easy as they’d hoped.

It didn’t take long for them to begin bringing up grievances from their childhoods, with George mentioning how Glenda had taken all of the attention at his 14th birthday party.

Glenda retaliated by pointing out that he had locked her in a coal shed when he brought a girl home, and things only deteriorated from there.

After a long while of arguing, Debbie had finally had enough, insisting that they needed an exorcist to sort out their mess instead of a mediator, promptly throwing in the towel and excusing herself from the table.

No closer to getting what she wanted, Glenda insisted that it was time to call in her lawyer, but George was quick to call her bluff, pointing out that the lawyer would only tell her what she already knew: That that version of the will wasn’t legally binding.

As George also left the table, Glenda lamented that she had failed, though Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) insisted that this was just round one, and that she shouldn’t give up until she gets what’s rightfully hers.

Will Glenda be able to see this out until the money is hers?
