Coronation Street hints at possible exit in Stu and Eliza storyline

Coronation Street has hinted at the possible exit of Eliza Woodrow.

Scenes airing this week will see Eliza’s father Dom Everett secretly return to Weatherfield after being bribed by her grandfather Stu Carpenter to stay away.

Upon his return, Dom tells Stu that he wants to give back his £10k, and says he would rather his daughter not know about his return.

In new follow-on scenes set to air next week, Stu lets Yasmeen know he will put the money into a trust for Eliza’s future – though his granddaughter discovers the envelope with the £10k in Stu’s coat pocket with a note reading: “I’m sorry I let Eliza down.”

Stu then realises that the truth about Dom’s return must be revealed as Eliza and Alya look at him expectantly.

Dom is then tracked down by Hope, Sam and Eliza at the Chariot Square Hotel bar.

With Dom in tow, Eliza heads to Speed Daal, and with Stu and Yasmeen present, she declares that she’s not prepared to lose her dad again. As such, she wants to move to Germany with Dom.

Later on in the week, Eliza practices her German, determined to one day go and live in the country with her dad.

Stu then comes to a decision, as he admits to Dom that he has been selfish, and suggests that Eliza move with him to Germany for a trial run of two weeks over Easter, with a view to a permanent move in the future.

Eliza’s rumoured exit comes as actress Savannah Kunyo hinted on Instagram that she would be departing, sharing a series of pictures last week including gifts from co-stars.

“Such a special night. My Corrie friends will always hold a place in my heart,” she wrote.
