There are terrifying scenes ahead in Coronation Street next week when a gun showdown leads to a major character being shot.
Upcoming scenes will see Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) return to the cobbles as he seeks help from former lover Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in getting a fake passport so he can leave the country.
Wanted for breaking out of hospital after donating a kidney to sister Carla Connor (Alison King), Rob is running out of time as the police continue to search for him, and his health remains on a steady decline.
Rob’s escape came after over ten years behind bars for the murder of Tina McIntyre.
Though at first he was unwilling to help his estranged sister in her time of need, he soon saw it as an opportunity for freedom.
However, things didn’t exactly go to plan, and Rob is scrambling to get things back on track as he tries to evade capture.
With Rob in possession of a gun, terrified Tracy follows his orders as he demands that she summon Carla to the house.
She calls the factory boss claiming to have a business proposition, and asks her to make her way to No.1 pronto.
When Carla arrives, she is horrified to find Rob, clearly in pain and clutching the gun.
Having already asked Tracy to run away with him, will Rob take the opportunity to make his escape, or does he have a more sinister plan for revenge in mind?
It doesn’t take long for news of the hostage situation to reach DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), and she is understandably horrified.
As a recent trailer revealed, both Carla and Lisa are fearing for their lives, begging unhinged Rob to let them help him as armed police close in on the building.
Once again torn between playing the role of detective sergeant and devoted girlfriend, will Lisa put her life on the line to save Carla and bring Rob to justice, or is it too late as a gunshot rings out?
