Coronation Street in major blunder as soap fans spot ‘clue’ that ‘gives away’ Rob Donovan survives soap’s kidnap week
EAGLE-eyed fans have worked out that there won’t be a tragic ending for evil Rob Donovan just yet after unleashing chaos on the Cobbles.
Actor Rob, played by Marc Baylis, was spotted alive and kicking at a Coronation Street star tour mingling with fans.
The star happily posed for photos with members of the public – and TV detectives have pieced together their own clever conclusions.
One fan scorned: “Not Corrie accidentally revealing Rob doesn’t die next week by having Marc do the star tour two days before kidnap week.”
A second noted: “I would LOVE to give Corrie credit for doing this but unfortunately they’re not smart enough to think this far ahead.”
A third chimed in: “We were told by Kate he was there for a good chunk.”
“Like, at least maybe schedule him… idk… ANY other weekend,” berated an annoyed fan.
Another user shared a photo with the tele scoundrel and wrote: “So lovely to see you @Marc_Baylis. You’re iconic.”
Killer Rob is set to make a desperate bid for freedom – and drags Carla into his dangerous escape.
Rob proves he’ll stop at nothing to break free.
Fresh from surgery, he launches a brutal attack on a security guard, swipes his uniform, and snatches Carla as his unwitting accomplice in a desperate bid for freedom.
Rob says: “There’s no way that I am going back inside. I would die before I go back to prison. And if that means taking someone with me, then so be it.”
An ill Carla looks weak and helpless on the floor with no choice but to conform to her stronger brother’s demands.
Soap fans have been teased that the storyline leads to the shooting and death.
It emerged last week that up to 75 people among ITV’s 600-strong Corrie and Emmerdale casts and crew face redundancy.
All episodes are to be scaled back to 30 minutes, meaning an hour’s less soap a week.
Several Corrie cast members have left in recent weeks including Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley), Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) and Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster).
