Coronation Street Joel’s killer unmasked in flashback scenes with ‘twists and turns’

Coronation Street is set to air its most gripping whodunnit yet as a number of suspects are questioned over the death of Joel Deering but the question is who is behind the murder?

The search for a killer is underway in a massive Weatherfield whodunnit.

On Monday (October 14) night’s shocking episode of Coronation Street, ITV viewers witnessed Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) body emerge from a river, only for a post-mortem to reveal that he was already dead before entering the water, ruling out suicide.

DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) declared Joel’s death as a murder investigation, causing a wave of fear among several Weatherfield residents. In the upcoming weeks, a sequence of thrilling flashbacks will assist viewers in piecing together the mystery, as the soap tracks the police’s efforts to crack one of the street’s most significant whodunnits.

Detective Kit, now officially leading the case, commences his investigation by notifying Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Dee-Dee Sterling (Channique Sterling-Brown), the two women whose lives Joel sought to ruin with his deceit and abuse, about his murder.

However, as the enigma intensifies, these stylised flashbacks will expose just how many suspects there are, taking us back to the night of September 27th when Joel disappeared, a man who was far from popular.

As several Coronation Street favourites become suspects, fans will witness the accused spotlighted in a crime wall photo. This week, the first to be unveiled are Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), the uncle of Joel’s aggrieved fiancee Dee-Dee, and Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), the notorious bully from the wrong side of town who has apparently been reforming his ways recently, reports the Liverpool Echo.

In Wednesday’s episode (October 17), viewers will experience the first dramatic flashback as they revisit the tragic night when Joel vanished and observe the events unfold. As the evidence piles up, audiences will see Kit being stretched thin, while DS Swain (Vicky Myers), who was forced to step back from the case, embarks on her own investigations.

With the plot becoming more complex and many more unexpected developments ahead, who is truly behind Joel’s death and how long will it take for Kit and Lisa to apprehend the murderer?
