Coronation Street Lauren Bolton ‘still alive’ as fans discover vital credit card clue
Coronation Street fans have their thinking caps on when it comes to discovering where missing teen Lauren Bolton has ended up – and it looks like Bethany Platt could be the key
Coronation Street fans are pretty sure they’ve worked out a twist that means missing teenager Lauren Bolton is still alive – even though arrests have been made for her murder.
Fans of the ITV soap have been keeping their eyes peeled for any clues that might lead to Joel Deering’s arrest after he framed Nathan Curtis for Lauren’s murder. In flashbacks, viewers saw it was Joel who repeatedly hit Lauren with a chair leg, with Hope Stape later discovering her missing necklace in his car.
But it could be Bethany Platt who finally uncovers the truth, after repeated unknown charges were discovered on her credit card. One Reddit user has now suggested Lauren took the card when she was going through Bethany’s bag – which led to her getting fired from Roy’s Rolls.
Taking to the social media site, one user said: “My hypothesis. I’m guessing that Lauren is somewhere with Bethany’s credit card. That recent episode saying she had unknown charges. Bethany will investigate and find Lauren living somewhere or shopping somewhere.”
Another then followed up: “That’s an excellent hypothesis, especially given that there are no coincidences or stray actions in soapworld! I think you’re onto something there. Mind you, I still think that she could be with her actual mum – if she got in touch with her mum after lawyer thumped her and probably at least gave her a concussion she could be somewhere else in the country entirely with her mum keeping her away from news ‘as she’s not well enough’ They could be using the credit card together.”
Somebody else posted: “This makes a lot of sense. Especially as she referred to it being about buying trainers. Might just be me but I always think of Lauren as having that casual vibe to her.”
And a different Redditor said: “I think if she was actually dead they would not be talking about her still. And no body found. Far fetched is no big deal on Coronation Street. Look at Abi being married to Kevin Webster lol.”
Actress Cait Fitton hasn’t revealed much about her character’s fate – but her Instagram bio now reads: “Previously Lauren in Coronation Street.” She’s been egging fans on with teaser trailers and posts of her own – and now nobody is 100% certain whether she’s alive or dead.
