Coronation Street legend arrested for the murder of a baby
The storyline that saw Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) reveal she gave birth to a stillborn baby and buried it in the park will be revisited in Coronation Street next week, as she is arrested for murder.
After Freddie the dog went missing recently, Toyah headed to North Cross Park to try and find him. She then found a group of people who said they saw Freddie sniffing around a specific patch of earth, and believed Roy Cropper (David Neilson) had buried Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) there.
The area turned out to be hugely important to Toyah, as she later told Nick (Ben Price) that’s where she buried her daughter Rose.
Toyah confirmed that when she was 19, she gave birth to Rose in her bedroom and discovered the little baby was stillborn.
After keeping Rose with her for the night, Toyah took her to the park and dug a grave near a rose bush.
Somewhat surprisingly, the storyline was barely mentioned after Toyah opened up to Nick, but that’s all set to change soon.
Coming up, Bethany (Lucy Fallon) reveals to Toyah that a colleague of hers once tried to write an expose about the Institute – the cult that Leanne (Jane Danson) has been drawn into.
In the Bistro, Toyah then receives a letter and is shocked to discover the Institute is suing her for defamation and taking out an injunction.
Meanwhile, Nick tries to make Leanne see that Toyah is trying to protect her from a corrupt organisation, but she refuses to listen.
Just as Nick leaves, Leanne opens her laptop, smiles at the person on the screen and tells them she loves them.
Later in the week, Toyah finds Leanne telling someone on her laptop screen that she loves them and reckons it’s Rowan, but Leanne denies it.
As things spiral, Toyah begs Leanne to open her eyes and see Rowan for what he really is but they’re interrupted when the police arrive along with officer Kit (Jacob Roberts).
In a shocking twist, Kit then arrests Toyah for murder after the body of a baby was found buried on the park.
