Coronation Street legend Carla Connor (Alison King) is in deadly danger in upcoming scenes when she is left for dead after contracting sepsis.

The factory boss was recently admitted to hospital with a bleed on the brain after being attacked during a robbery, but her health woes are far from over.

In upcoming scenes, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) grows concerned when Carla appears to be confused, and it soon becomes clear that she is hearing things.

He is quick to suggest that she go home and get some rest, but he can’t help worrying about her while they are apart.

When he later heads round to check on her, he is horrified to find her barely conscious on the living room floor.

He wastes no time in calling an ambulance, and soon Carla is rushed to the hospital.

After assessing Carla, the doctor reveals to Roy that he suspects she is suffering from sepsis.

The next day, the doctor has further bad news for Carla as he reveals that the sepsis has damaged her kidney and she may need another transplant.

Viewers will remember that Carla was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2017 and received a donor kidney from half-brother Aidan Connor a few months later.

While Carla struggles with her health, girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is left totally in the dark about her condition.

Having recently discovered that the Radcliffe brothers may have been involved in wife Becky’s death, Lisa throws herself into solving the case, and ends up in a confrontation with Matty (Seamus McGoff).

When Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) warns her off interrogating the lad, Lisa heads home with flowers and wine for Carla, but is shocked to find that she is nowhere to be seen.

The next day, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) returns from Ireland and it becomes clear to Lisa that Carla has lied about her whereabouts.

After rushing to the hospital, Lisa spells out that she doesn’t appreciate being lied to.

However, Carla remains dismissive as she insists that she’s fine and doesn’t want a fuss.
