Coronation Street legend makes shock return after a decade away – and she’s hiding a huge secret
A CORONATION Street legend has returned after a decade away – and she’s hiding a major secret.
Julie Carp made a shock appearance in tonight’s episode of the ITV soap with actress Katy Cavanagh reprising her iconic role as Eileen Grimshaw’s sister.
Spotting his aunt in the hotel for the singles Tea Dance, Todd exclaimed: “I don’t believe it, Julie!”
“Todd! Look at you!” she replied, adding: “I still can’t believe you’re here. “
The three sat down for drinks at Debbie’s event.
But as George offered to call Eileen to join them, Julie panicked.
“No, don’t,” she told him.
“I’ll make a beeline for her tomorrow. I want proper quality time with her. I’ve got a work meeting first thing and I’m already a bit tiddly.
“We’d end up gassing all night completely sloshed. Once I’ve got my work meeting over then I can focus on her, one hundred per cent.”
Todd and George then filled Julie in on other goings on on the cobbles including Jesse’s recent return and she was as bemused as the rest of the nation.
But then bizarrely Julie agreed to stay when Todd and George offered to get her another drink.
“Oh go on then, I am having such a lovely time,” she said but later told Todd not to mention her visit to his mum.
George tried to convince Julie to book in for a brunch the next day for her reunion with Eileen but Julie brushed him off, insisting she would take her chances instead.
But after saying goodbye to George, Julie sharpened and revealed she had no intentions of seeing Eileen.
And in fact she had no intentions of staying in Weatherfield for more than a night.
Picking up her phone she said: “Hello Julie Carp here.
“I’d like to be picked up at 9am tomorrow from the Chariot Square Hotel. For Manchester Piccadilly. Thanks.”
But what is Julie hiding and why doesn’t she want to see her own sister?
