A CORONATION Street legend quits the Cobbles in upcoming scenes – but not before issuing a stern warning to their ex.

Viewers of the ITV soap recently got a surprise when Tracy Barlow returned to Weatherfield, having previously jetting off to Spain to be with new man, Tommy Orpington.

However, the reason for her return soon came to light, as she played a message from Tommy to her daughter Amy.

In it, he begged her to come home and told her how much he missed her.

While clearly there was trouble in paradise, Amy selfishly told her mum to return to Spain, despite the drama she was facing with The Institute after she invested all her inheritance money into the scam set up.

In upcoming Coronation Street scenes, Amy, Ken and Cassie wave Tracy (Kate Ford) off as she leaves for the airport with Steve.

On the way, Tracy tells her estranged husband Steve it’s obvious Cassie Plummer – who is currently working as Ken Barlow’s carer – fancies him and he should go for it.

But will Steve take Tracy’s advice on board?

Tracy first left the Cobbles in April after ending her marriage to Steve, following her steamy affair with former footballer, Tommy.

Tracy had discovered that lover Tommy had wanted her to move to Spain with him after he landed a football coaching job, but her estranged husband Steve had burned his letter.

After accusing Amy of meddling to get her and Steve back together, Tracy realised Steve had been the one to lock up and intercept the letter.

And it didn’t take her long to confront him – and dump him for good.

Meanwhile Cassie – played by Claire Sweeney – has developed feelings for Steve while working at his house as she cares for Ken.

The pensioner had a nasty fall earlier this year, and was left devastated when doctors told him he would need a carer as he tried to regain his mobility.

Tracy was initially put out to see how close Cassie had become to her dad and her ex, and accused her of having feelings for Steve.

While Cassie denied it, Tracy clearly thinks otherwise by alerting Steve to it, but what will the hapless romantic do about it?
