Coronation Street Lisa Swain’s ‘downfall sealed’ amid Rob Donovan’s ‘evil plan’

It was Lisa Swain and Carla Connor’s first Valentine’s Day together, although it wasn’t the greatest. In Friday night’s visit to Coronation Street, fans heard the doctor reveal there had been a delay with Carla’s operation, as she worried Rob had backed out.
Elsewhere, Rob Donovan was seen chatting to DS Swain who told him she’d heard rumblings that the detective on his case was going to be investigated for “using excessive pressure.” She then advised Rob to say she did the same to her, so he could get a grounds for appeal. However, a suspicious Rob made DS Swain record their arrangement – so she didn’t go back on her word once he’d donated a kidney to Carla. Now, fans are fearing for Lisa’s livelihood.
The operation all went well – although Rob was told by Mandy he’d have to go back to prison on Monday, just before she was called back herself. “You don’t think they’ve found out about us?” he asked.
Fans are fearing for Lisa’s job
Just before Carla was taken to her operation, the two expressed their love for one another while grabbing onto each others arms – but fans think this may be foreshadowing to something more sinister.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans are fearing for Lisa’s future. “Either way that insurance is totally gona cost Lisa’s her career but at the same time what’s more important? Her job or her GF? Already lost Becky, she can’t lose Carla too, not to mention it would destroy Betsy.”
Another penned: “I’m begging that this whole Lisa thing is to show just how much she loves Carla and that she doesn’t actually lose her job but I’m fearful this is going to happen. Her cater is a massive part of who she is.”

“I think Lisa going to fall over the bannister and the arm gestures that have been leading up to the kidnap will see Carla not having any energy + let’s slip of her hand, Rob runs down the stairs but TRIPS therefore no1 pushed him!!!!!”
Another fan said: “I am just thinking what if Lisa goes over the stairs but manages to hold on but Carla can’t help her because she just had the op then she falls,” as another added: “Or Carla manages to grab her but loses her grip and she falls. There’s been lots of foreshadowing of this over recent episodes.”
“Yep, I can see it now,” agreed another. “Or even Lisa telling her to let her go so Carla doesn’t hurt herself, still putting Carla first even when facing death/serious injury.”
Swarla fans were left waiting months for the two to become an official couple, and now that’s happened, could things start to go wrong?
